Dr. Humphries is a licensed Professional Engineer registered in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Michigan with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering. In addition to his work as a Professional Engineer, Dr. Humphries spent 34 years in academia as a professor and Dean of Engineering at the University of South Carolina. He has extensive geotechnical experience including geotechnical analysis and design, report preparation and review, and marketing and regional management. In recognition of Dr. Humphries' contributions to the engineering community, he has received numerous honors including the Order of the Palmetto (South Carolina's highest honor), the rank of Fellow by the ASCE and NSPE, South Carolina's Engineer of the Year Award, Public Service Award, The Letalier Cup, and The Government Employee of the Year Award.
